Hardball

Just Play Ball

If the goal is to develop players who enjoy the game, why do competitive teams drive hours and spend their entire weekends playing 2-3 games against subpar competition? What is Dallas Hardball? Hardball was formed to fill a huge need in Dallas for competitive youth league baseball right here at home.

With Hardball, Players spend their weekends actually playing ballgames with and against their neighborhood friends, and not sitting around for hours on buckets at ``tournaments``.

Where are games played?

All games are played at Glencoe Park, Churchill Park, Fair Oaks Park, and the Village Dallas baseball field.

What ages play in Hardball

Hardball has age divisions including:

  • Rookie Ball or traditional Tee-Ball (3-5 years old)
  • 6U Modified Coach Pitch (6 years old or Kindergarten)
  • 7U coach pitch (7 years old or First Grade)
  • 8U coach pitch (8 years old or Second Grade)
  • 9U player pitch (9 years old or Third Grade)
  • 10U player pitch (10 years old or Fourth Grade) double header ball

Are there tryouts?

Currently, players do not have to try-out for Hardball. Players can register for a specific team or coach, or they can register as a free agent and be placed on a team with players from the same school or neighborhood or based on open roster space.

Who coaches the teams?

Most Hardball teams are coached by parent volunteers, but DH does have private coaches that are available to coach teams for the season or run individual practices throughout the season.

My 6-year-old son had his first baseball lesson with Evan from Dallas Hardball. Evan was amazing - patient, kind, and kept my son engaged. After the lesson, my son told me he LOVED it and that baseball is now his favorite sport. That is a HUGE WIN!!!! We can’t wait for our next lesson!

My 12 year old son just started taking private catching lessons with Coach Lawson and he is amazing! He is so encouraging, helpful, and positive. This summer is exceptionally hot, but Coach Lawson is out there teaching and coaching through all of it! My son can't wait for his next lesson!

Parent D. Bowen

At our first lesson today, our son made great progress with his swing and learned valuable tips for throwing and catching. We're impressed and ready to book more lessons. Planning to ask Coach Kyle if Coach Lawson can help with the team's practice.

We are so excited to offer Dallas a better way to enjoy the game. Come watch a game, have lunch with the team, hit in the cages, and do it all in a safe and secure location in the heart of Dallas. Our parents and baseball community are outstanding and the Spring is shaping up nicely already.

I love that the field is nice and that the fences are shorter than the field we used to play on. I almost hit a homerun.

Player C. James

Amazing league, the batting cages are college or pro caliber. Communication with the league and coaches is a huge improvement over the league we come from. The fall season has been great and looking forward to the spring.

Parent R. Bennett

We love the field and the rooftop bar. The kids loving playing against their friends and playing better teams. Everyone loves how close everything is.
